MSC SKIN SCIENTIST, ADVANCED ANTI-AGEING SOLUTIONS AND ORGANIC SKINCARE FORMULATIONS
As early as eight years old, Faiza was fascinated with skin health, winning BBC Blue Peter competitions for writing articles on dry skin and eczema and how our food impacts our skin. She would then go on to create homemade formulas using only natural ingredients such as herbs, fruit juices and extracts to solve her skincare problems.
Driven towards academic pursuits from wanting to understand skin physiology at a cellular level, Faiza achieved an MSc in Cosmetic Science, Safety Assessments and further education in Advanced Organic Science, Advanced Anti ageing Solutions and Skin of Colour. Understanding skin concerns like premature ageing, photoageing, hyperpigmentation, PIH, discoloration and hormonal skin changes played a pivotal role during Faiza’s R&D.

Fast track over a decade: Faiza would go on to formulate hundreds of products, win multiple beauty awards, be invited to be a judge at InCosmetics and a key speaker for P&G, as well as heading R&D and developing products for some of the world's leading cosmetic brands taken to market by globally recognised industry giants.

The skin barrier's primary role is to protect the body from external aggressors and retain moisture. In melanin-rich skin, visible trauma (like scars and hyperpigmentation) can act as an added barrier. It often thickens or hardens as a protective response, prematurely ageing and making it more challenging to permeate with skincare. This dense composition of melanin can act as a barrier, making it challenging for products to penetrate and work effectively. Traditional formulas treat the skin's surface the same and lack the technology to reach deeper layers of skin concerns.

A meeting of summer 2021 with award winning, business and technology renowned entrepreneur Syed Ahmed quickly revealed a shared vision and passion. Faiza and Syed both recognised a significant gap in the market: advanced anti-ageing skincare and wellness solutions suitable for ALL skin tones but inclusively developed for the unmet needs of melanin-rich skin. It was this mutual understanding and determination to address this need that forged the partnership and laid the foundation for a joint venture. Younger Inc. was born!
